Visiting friends or 看朋友

One of the fun things about living in China is that we knew many people from China before we moved to China! Say that ten times fast.   A few of these people live in ShenYang and we've been able to visit them and reestablish friendships.  One family we somehow just haven't seen yet- they are the parents of friends from St. Louis and just really stellar people.  Many of my STL readers will recognize them!
It snowed last night so we took a taxi instead of the bus.  Our sweet foster son was happy and kicking at 4:00 AM and I was hoping he would sleep in the taxi.  He did for the last five minutes so I was nervous that he would be cranky.  Instead when we got to our friend's house, he did this right when we were going to eat!

Oh how we love this easy going baby!

We spent the rest of the afternoon talking and eating hot pot!  Here are a few pictures of our time.

Our friends invited their friend who was a sweet young mom who loved on our baby.

Our very hospitable hosts.

Look at that hot pot selection!  Meat, vegetables, fish balls, shrimps balls!  我们 喜欢火锅!

Our friend's mom serving up the meat.

聊聊天  If you know Paul at all, you know this is his perfect kind of day!

More discussions of many things in China!

This young woman had many valuable things to say.  We hope to continue this relationship.

Grandma's are the same all over the world.  It's fun to have someone admire our foster son.

A  good day, a fun day.  A day that helps us remember why we came to China and why we love China and its people.
